PIZZA
As you may or may not know, pizza is my favorite food. I probably don’t have to convince anyone of its deliciousness, I mean who doesn’t like pizza? We make it at home usually once a week and it’s always an easy and inexpensive meal. This recipe (there are tons of recipes out there, this one is the easiest we’ve found) is great and makes about 4 pizzas.
Here’s what you need first:
About a tablespoon and a half of yeast
4 cups flour
2 cups warm water
salt and pepper
mix all ingredients and knead, place in a large covered bowl and let rise for about 2 hours. punch down and let rise again for about 30-60 minutes. separate dough into 4 equal parts.
get out Pyrex or other pans and coat bottom and sides with olive oil. take one of the dough pieces (of the 4) and coat with some olive oil then spread out into the bottom of the pan, patting down lightly to cover the entire bottom.
Now you need:
cheese (I use goat)
pizza sauce
toppings if any and spices – I use basil, fresh oregano, cayenne pepper and merken (a Mapuche spice)
pre-heat the oven to 500 degrees. top the pizza with sauce then cheese and spices or toppings. place in the oven and cook for about 20 minutes (check periodically to make sure the sides aren’t burning). we like ours golden brown:)
now make the rest of the three pizzas. Eat!
